On a crisp summer evening the city turned into a sort of fashion themed celebration. All the stores had the doors wide open and glasses of Champagne ready to great the crowds. Yes, VanJean was there. How could we NOT attend? Are you kidding? We were like flies to honey.

Tuesday, June 30, 2009 at 09:28AM VanJean is on VACATION! Tomorrow is the first day of VanJean's (Pout too) summer vacation. We close today at 5:00pm and reopen on Wednesday, July 8 @ 10:30.
We know it is very hot in July and the last thing you may want to think about is Fall clothing. In previous years we cringed as cashmere, yes I said CASHMERE, arrived in JULY! Early summer is when the fall shipments begin to arrive and we have no option but to accept the delivery dates the designers set for us. The recession has changed the clothing industry for the better. To stay in business and stay competitive, the designers had to rethink what they produce. For us, and you, that means more "buy now, wear now" clothing. Of course, some of the items arriving in store now are too heavy for summer, but this is the first season I have ever seen so many offerings of clothing that will transition easily from summer-to-fall-to-winter. So why is July 09 a great time to shop? SPRING AND SUMMER ITEMS ARE ON SALE! and...You can freshen up your closet with a few new (fall) pieces at the same time and wear all of it NOW! I love instant gratification.
