We know it is very hot in July and the last thing you may want to think about is Fall clothing. In previous years we cringed as cashmere, yes I said CASHMERE, arrived in JULY! Early summer is when the fall shipments begin to arrive and we have no option but to accept the delivery dates the designers set for us. The recession has changed the clothing industry for the better. To stay in business and stay competitive, the designers had to rethink what they produce. For us, and you, that means more "buy now, wear now" clothing. Of course, some of the items arriving in store now are too heavy for summer, but this is the first season I have ever seen so many offerings of clothing that will transition easily from summer-to-fall-to-winter. So why is July 09 a great time to shop? SPRING AND SUMMER ITEMS ARE ON SALE! and...You can freshen up your closet with a few new (fall) pieces at the same time and wear all of it NOW! I love instant gratification.

Vince, Tibi and Tory arrived and it is (with the exception of a few items) buy now/wear now and can transition in to fall/winter quite nicely. New pictures are on VanJean's Facebook page. We visited the usual showrooms (Phillip Lim, Tory Burch) plus a few new ones.... Can't say which ones yet, but we think you will like the new brands that will soon be part of the selection at VanJean.

Here's a sneak peak of what is to come from two of our favorite brands. The dog isn't part of the resort collections, but just a cute showroom pup. His owner is Libby, the Loeffler Randall rep. Enjoy!

The VanJean ladies arrived at the 3.1 Phillip Lim Show with butterflies! He always puts such unique twist on the presentation of his shows. We always arrive early, because people watching is such a treat at his show. Unlike a lot of other fashion shows thathave adisplay of "it" celebrities, the 3.1 show is a "who's who" of the powers that be in the fashion world. Top editors, stylists, fashion directors, big-name buyers, you name it!

We take our seats and are greeted by none other than, Wen Zhou, CEO of 3.1 Phillip Lim. She is there speaking to the guests and media. She is so nice and always takes the time thank us for attending the show and being great customers. (Wen's daughter, by the way, is the model for Phillip's little girls line)We see Nina Garcia, Ken Downing, Linda Fargo, Amy Astley, Plum Sykes, and the queen hereself, Anna Wintour.

As the lights go down, we see a group of people head to the back of the runway and in true original Phillip Lim style, it's a LIVE BAND! The band, Lissy Trullie, kicks off the show and the parade of fall's MUST HAVES begin. Fur is back this fall, and Phillip had some of the best of the best. This collection had a "London in the sixties" vibe. His mix of structure and flowiness makes chic dressing effortless. To see our pics click the link below! Enjoy!
